Yet another update!

Mission 731i + 701 pairs in parallel + DOUK M1 Pro amp running in 4Ω mode, 12awg speaker wire.
731i's got a new set of feet after sitting direct to carpet (cheapest significantly noticable mod).
701's immaculate, 731i's VGC (one faulty grille, took em off), purchased on ebay.

With the Android EQ and DSP sorted (PowerEQ app, VLC streaming radio), system is Hypnotic.
These speakers are excellent together. Total spend about £170; including amp. They harmonise well, instruments sound realistic.

Bass is tight, excellent vocals, soft dome/metal dome clarity. Very punchy, detailed, amazing. Expensive sounding. Sounds new*.

Unexpected. No lack whatsoever. Holographic sound is real.

*Cleaned and retightened binding posts, it's worth the effort.

5 out of 5 "Well used Mission 701 speakers"
I retrieved these from my local recycling centre electronic dumpster. The price was right. Of course the cabinets had a fair degree of scuffing, but nothing that would affect the sound. The sound when I fired them up is great. All drivers performing, no rattles, squeak or buzzing. It is truly amazing what people will throw out these days. They sound like they just came from the store to my admittedly senior ears.

5 out of 5 "Update"
Checked crossover, values differ from earlier 701's.
4.7µF 108℃ bipolar
10µF 108℃ bipolar
2.2Ω wirewound
I presume the coils differ also.

'Upgraded' binding posts with low cost audiophile gold plated, which increased midrange prominence, but sapped the bass performance. Reinstalled original posts. Quick.

5 out of 5 "Build an Amazing budget system"
Bought a pair that appears to be a revised edition. Rare, due to the version 2 tweeter. Build quality is excellent, Like new.

Tested using Douk M1 Pro and 12 awg CCA cable. Android V4A DSP over Bluetooth (which isn't optimal for V4A, switching to RCA later), even so, the sound quality is clear, smooth, dynamic, refined. A lot of headroom for bass, EQ to taste. These are hypnotising when setup, listening to radio stations on Radio Garden, loitering longer than usual.

Car amplifier with bass boost (like a Wudi C-266) will increase the volume of sub bass frequencies below the rated specs of the 701 (as I found with the 731, silk dome version). Amazing sound.
These are superb speakers. Going to parallel them with a Focal FPX 4.800 amp, after refreshing the electrolytics (like for like), wirewounds and 12 awg OFC internal for woofer.
This version of the Mission 701 is rare for a reason.
