"700LE original owner"

Bought my first pair in 1985 in England after listening to various other quality brands and they still please me a lot. So I bought a second pair as surrounds secondhand and repaired one foam ring. Will replace the capacitors in the crossover soon to regain that open, detached from the speaker stereo image. Bass is sufficient in my view but you can always ad a sub. For surround I added a Mission 70C1 as center speaker. Because I like to listen to pure 2-channel stereo as well as surround for concerts and movies I have a SONY STR2400ES driving them all with digital input with the option to switch to pure direct analogue and you really hear the difference in spatial sound.
They reproduce very accurately, you can hear all the layers and instruments clearly. Good dynamics too with percussion en acoustic guitar music.

Excellent little sealed boxes. Unsurprisingly sound at their best with cyrus gear (i use a pristine cyrus one and cd7q with these), really analytical gear will lay bare their flaws. However when partnered correctly they are very engaging and a joy to listen to. Well designed with a composite plastic stepped front baffle, the cabinets are a bit lightweight but very well built. They like to sit a little lower than usual (top panel clearly visible from the hot seat), prefer cables with a degree of 'richness', on stands and sited 7-8 inches from rear wall and not toed in they completely charm with an airy and musical presentation. Change all the screws for solid brass wood screws (go on laugh, but then try it and be amazed), and you have a real sleeper.
