5 out of 5 "Linn LP12"
Ive owned my LP12 from new for 25 years. It has gone through many upgrades and has only gotten better with age. Not many pieces of electronics out there that are well supported and can give a life time of enjoyment. THis one is a keeper with many more upgrades to come. Find a post 1985 build LP12( Vallhala, better Bracing etc) on the used market and go from there ( linn even has a support email address that you can get info via the serial number).

Some say that this unit is the pinnacle of turntable technology and I partially believe this. It is one heck of a turntable if it is set up correctly (and that is the key). Back in the the day when I used to sell audio, we always had a tuned LP12 in the shop as the benchmark or dream unit by which we compared everything else. We never actually sold them. Then we would flog Rega Planar 3's out the door like crazy since they were almost as good and the poor man's version of the Linn (so we touted)...
