I bought this after using the PD-10 which was impressively sounding enough.
Had this about 18 months it sounds brilliant even better than the PD10 especially if using the Pure Direct option (turns of the display and power to the iPod socket). Very detailed sound across the frequency range have had to relisten to my extensive CD collection (not finished) to investigate things I might have missed previously like background noises/vocals and lead vocals that were not discernable on my previous more expensive CD player.
The only let down is the occasional old CD it fails to read first time (just a matter of reloading). Hence the mark down in rating.
