In smaller volumes, at moderate sound levels, the speaker did a reasonable job. It was used with a Carver TFM-25 and PS Audio HCA-2 power amp, Parasound Halo pre-amp, with Pro-Ject RPM-6 and Cambridge Audio 740c sources. It was quite sensitive to placement and subject to bass bloom if placed too close to a wall, and in my setting liked to have a good amount of toe-in for better imaging. It handled chamber music and smaller orchestrations, and struggled with the likes of Sheherazade and Firebird at realistic sound levels. Forget Judas Priest. The isolated tweeter looked the business, but in operation was not markedly above the function of other well engineered enclosures. I believe this was positioned as an entree to the B&W brand and was built to a pricepoint, and its compromises stem from its positioning in the lineup.
