Bi-wired I found these speakers to be ok but using them for anything other than near field listening isn't really a good way to go.
These I used on a Cambridge audio A500 and I also tried them on a beefier Teac AH-400 reference series amp and at higher volumes they are great.
They do lack some detail in the 1kz kind of area but when you consider you can use the crossovers to great effect on an amp with non bi-wired outputs and this is how I found they sounded more engaging, paired with an old Rotel RX402 "quadrosound" tuner amp they came to life!
