Just had the best part of 20 years out of this cd player. Overall, it gave a good sound on most cds, although partnering with other Technics gear seems to make a big difference. I changed from a Technics SU V2 amp to a Rega Brio partnered with Quad speakers a few years ago and it really highlighted the cd player's age. Some cds became really bright, harsh & tiring to listen to. However, using Technics headphones seemed to produce a smoother sound. With the player starting skip & jump frequently I replaced it with a Rega Apollo R earlier this week. The system has really come alive now, but can't complain about the value for money out of the old cd player.
