The amp has a built in parameter 6 band eq, which has a tendency to favor the top-mid region. I found with bottom end hard to get clarity from. Neutral setting at the low-lowmid band gives you little help in this regard. Consisting of 4 channels, with rca outs on the rear panel. Loudness button as well. When not active you get a more even parameter from the band eq. The 3 features that I love about this 230 watt amp is the 6.5 phone input, speaker deactivation button and the led volume light. All located on the front panel. Overall, for an amp with little head room considering output, this one is up there with some of the best. It is an honest amp. Giving you a lot of clarity. I feel this amp (for what it is) would be a good buy for anyone considering dj work or using it as a recording monitor (which I do). THIS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR HI-FI! Considering that you only have the option for duel speaker outputs which is limiting but not uncommon for the year. I give the Yamaha A-09 an overall rating of 3/5
