3 out of 5 "stand ins for main speakers"
I bought these back around 1980 from Cavendish sales in whitechapel, now sadly gone, I cannot remember how much they were. They have been in my loft for some time but I am now using them again as my main horn speaker set up is being modded. I am running them with a 300B 8 watt valve amp and it drives them much louder than I need. I usually listen between 75 - 85db. The room is 14 feet square. Being used to high end comprssion driven horns these give a good account of themselves and anyone wanting a cheap pair of second hand speakers could do worse.

5 out of 5 "Wharfedale Laser 60 Loudspeaker"
A great little two way speaker from Wharfedale built between 1979 & 1983. Subsequently became the Laser 90. Very good sound definition from a small speaker which can actually handle more than the rated output of 75 watts (programme) provided you use a good quality amp and DON'T overdrive it. I've been using mine with a Pioneer A8 (1980's class A amplifier) rated at 100 watts rms - often at the 100 watt level! Seemingly this is something you can get away with due to the fact that the L60's bass/midrange unit is a "long throw driver" unlike the L80's which isn't so I wouldn't recommend over powering the Laser 80's The Wharfedale Laser 60 speakers are great for any music but mine have only ever been used for rock or reggae, after 29 years, I've still got them - and I'll continue to keep them!
