5 out of 5 "My favourite speakers"
I have had a lot of different bookshelf Hi fi speakers over the years, including Castle acoustics, JPW's and other Wharfedales, but these are undoubtedly my favourites. Treble is very clean, and the Bass lacks the boominess that bookshelf bass refllex speakers are prone to exhibit. But the most remarkable aspect of is the stereo imaging. The speakers just disappear, and both instrumental and voice performances area amazingly detailed. I would not part with these speakers.

I teamed these with a Bowers & Wilkins, pass-through sub woofer, to extend the bass and the effect is amazing.

Build quality for this hand made speaker is very good as you'd expect.
However the veneer finish can be a little prone to chipping at the corners.
I have been told by Wharfedale that the bass drivers were fitted as matched pairs and this certainly comes across in the balance of the sound.

Bass is good and not overblown but these speakers do require a good amplifier to keep it tight sounding, rather than 'wooly' or 'wobbly'.
Treble driver gives one of the cleanest sounding treble I've ever heard, Not hard like the offerings from Tannoys or Monitor Audio's of the time.

A bit of an unsung hero but with one word of warning. These speakers really do not like being fed with amplifier clipping or turntable rumble. These types of distortion, at higher volumes, quickly lead to the destruction of a driver. Something I learnt at great expense when I was less experienced.
