5 out of 5 "Mx-3"
The MX3 represents true value for money. At the price, I strongly believe they are one of the best available in the market today. They look great in light maple with white cone mid/bass driver and stand tall and slim, gorgeous.

I partner it with a 30w tube amp and they show no sign of clipping at all. Vocals are excellent for the price level, in fact its much better than higher end loudspeakers manufactured 3 to 4 years ago. Its amazing how much they have technically improved.

Bass however suffered. Its there, but its just not extended and the bass presence is not strong. Maybe its the nature of the tannoys to sound lean and clean. I also noticed that it can sound a tad slow, but I think that is due to my system charateristic.

One of the strenght of the MX3 that must not be overlooked would be its ability to disappear, even at this price range. The last I heard speakers playing a wide and deep soundstage was the audio physics (masterpiece transducer..). So I got thrown off my seat when I started playing a track from Stacey Kent and all the instruments were widely arranged across the room, with Stacey right there in the middle.

Detail level is quite amazing too. In fact its so much better than the epos es22 I used to have, which was almost 8 times its price, but very aged (almost 6 years old).

I strongly recommend this speaker to those into vocals, classical, new age. Hard rockers may need to look elsewhere.
