5 out of 5 "Still my favorite"
I bought this speakers way back in 1999. And I tried a lot past years, but these are still my favorite. It has something to do buying them as my first serious audio equipement. But also with the very easy listening wide soundstage. I combine them with a Teac H500 receiver also bought in 1999 and they are a nice couple.
I also own a more high end Dali opticon mk2 set of speakers alone with a Yamaha n803d receiver. It has to be a step further in quality (more detailed and bright) but for easyJet listening I still need my Tannoys and Teac.

5 out of 5 "Tannoy Mercury M2"
I came across these kind of by mistake, bought them and wow what a great set of speakers. I think too many high end speakers are all about middle, these have everything and it's no wonder What HiFi gave them a 5 star rating back in 1997, they kind of set a standard.
One word of warning is they need stands, they also need padding between the speaker and the stand and if you don't have carpet, padding below the stands, the bass can make a room vibrate but padding helps (or just turn the bass down).
I've played about with the spacing/placing, yes it makes a difference but mainly in the bass.
Great set of speakers!!
