"Pairs great with JR149's"

I love this amp, I have it hooked up to a pair or JR149's, the whole setup was bought new by my parents back in the late 70's. This amp sounds great with these speakers, a friend of mine has tried to make his 149's sound as good with different amps from different eras up to very expensive modern ones to no avail. I think that is a good enough advertisement!!

Have it hooked up to a pair of Sony SS-B3000, sounds great and only need to throw it to "5" and i'm rocking, has more then enough omph to push the woofers.

bought it used from audio gold in the late 80s, when richard was still in his first premises. it was for a daughter, then early teenage. it always had a sweet, rich tone; still does; has never faltered, despite all the moves that youth is heir to. paired it with JPW mini-monitors, justly praised on this site. in some ways preferred the sound to my quad/kef system; more accurate. finally retrieved it (and the JPWs) from her because it was "too big"; true enough, could hardly carry it upstairs.
she wanted something that looked better. a ruark MR1. doesn't sound better though, and won't, even with the addition of a REL TZero. & the aiwa will still sound good when she throws the MR1 out in 10 years time with all the other rubbish hanging around from 2014. i think i paid £20. Anyone want it? i have a quad to support.
